The product

People on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound juggle shot days, side effects, protein targets and doctor visits. Generic fitness apps aren’t built for injection cycles. Enzo is: a tracker built only for GLP-1 users, with a companion cat that eats when you log a meal, celebrates streaks and misses you when you skip a day.

The hard parts

01

Vision AI that answers a GLP-1 question, not a generic one

A photo of a plate has to become calories, protein and macros instantly, framed for GLP-1 nutrition (high protein, small portions), and a second scanner has to classify digestive health on the Bristol Stool Scale. Both take messy real-world photos.

How we tackled itTwo separate scan flows, each with its own structured output schema, so results land as clean log entries rather than free text, and copy written for people on GLP-1 treatment rather than for dieters.
02

A companion that reacts to the user’s real state

Enzo grows from a kitten into a cat, eats when you log, celebrates on injection day and is empathetic when side effects hit. That means the pet’s state has to be computed from many data streams: meals, doses, water, symptoms, streaks.

How we tackled itA single event-driven progress model: every log writes an event that feeds pet growth, coins, streaks and messages from one source of truth, so the pet, the calendar and the rewards never drift apart.
03

Streak and reward logic people can trust

Streaks, Streak Shields, coins and a store create an in-app economy. Edge cases (time zones, missed days, protecting a streak after the fact) decide whether users feel rewarded or cheated.

How we tackled itStreak rules defined explicitly per calendar day in the user’s local time, with shields consumed against a specific missed day and the full history visible on a calendar view.
04

Medical-style tracking without being a medical app

Injection schedules for several GLP-1/GIP drugs, site rotation, 15+ symptoms with severity, and a PDF a doctor can read in a short appointment.

How we tackled itA structured data model for doses, sites and symptoms, trend views that put daily changes in context, and a PDF summary of weight, medication, side effects and progress the user can share at appointments.
05

Subscriptions and reminders that just work

Shot-day reminders and subscription state are the two things that cannot fail. The public release notes call out work on reminders and subscription event delivery.

How we tackled itReliability treated as a feature: reminder scheduling and subscription events hardened and shipped in the regular update cycle, alongside Apple Health sync.

Technical approach is described at a product level. Client data and internal metrics stay private.

Outcome

Enzo is live on the App Store as a subscription product, with a public site and an active release cycle. The client’s own site describes the product and its community in its own words; we don’t restate their numbers here.
